The power supply unit (PSU) is a fundamental component of the Bitcoin ASIC machine. The K9 PSU (pictured below) is a specific PSU for the K9 model ASIC machine. Generally, there are specific model PSU’s that are compatible with specific Bitcoin Mining Machines.

1. Materials needed:
A. Drill (w/phillips head) 

B. Phillips head screwdriver.

*Note – A fully powered drill will eventually damage the screws that you’re using to assemble an ASIC. You need a drill with low torque to assemble any Bitcoin Mining ASIC Machine.

When assembling the PSU, always remember, “Righty Tighty Lefty Loosey.” Turn the screw right to tighten and turn it left to loosen the screw. Drills usually have a button you can press to perform this task.

2. Position the K9 machine sideways so that the PSU is horizontal (fans should be on the bottom). This will make the replacement much easier to execute. Now, remove the top frame (4 screws total). 

3. After you have removed the top frame, 3A. Remove the 3 screws from the top part of the outside frame. Then, 3B. remove the 6 terminal screws connected to the PSU. 

Finally, 3C. remove the power cable connecting the PSU to the control board. (Pictured Below).

4. Remove the bottom frame and the final 4 screws at the bottom of the PSU. Hold on to the long metal piece you will need later to restabilize the bottom side of the K9 PSU.

5. After you do this, you should be able to easily remove the old psu and place the new psu in the same spot with relative ease.

6. Go Ahead and reattach the bottom frame first to stabilize the lower part of the PSU.  

7. While reattaching the psu, try to make sure that the 6 screws next to the power supply cable are flush with the top frame. Proceed to put all the screws in the proper place.

8. Reattach the top frame. Make sure all cables and screws are attached properly. 

9. Great Job! Make sure to keep all the same screws together. You can use the top shell of the machine as a temporary storage area to help with organization.
