The Plan ₿ Initiative, a collaboration between Tether and the city of Lugano, Switzerland, has introduced a remarkable statue honoring Bitcoin’s enigmatic creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.

Revealed during the 3rd Annual Plan ₿ Forum, this statue features a disappearing effect designed to symbolize Nakamoto’s mystery and anonymity in the cryptocurrency world.

Located at Villa Ciani in Lugano, the statue attracted Bitcoin advocates, government officials, and technology enthusiasts, who gathered to celebrate the influence of Nakamoto’s work on financial innovation.

According to Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, the statue is more than a tribute; it embodies the spirit of decentralization that Bitcoin represents, pointing to Nakamoto’s choice to fade from public life and let the Bitcoin community take the lead. Lugano Mayor Michele Foletti also remarked on the statue’s symbolism, seeing it as a fitting tribute in a city that aims to become a blockchain and cryptocurrency hub in Europe​.
