HIVE Digital Technologies Ltd. has acquired 6,500 Canaan Avalon A1566 ASIC miners, each with a hashrate of 185 TH/s, totaling approximately 1.2 EH/s in additional mining capacity.
This strategic investment aims to enhance HIVE’s Bitcoin mining operations by replacing older, less efficient equipment, thereby increasing overall efficiency and output.
The Avalon A1566 miners are known for their high performance and energy efficiency, operating at 185 TH/s with a power consumption of 3,420W, resulting in an efficiency of 18.5 J/TH.
This upgrade is expected to significantly boost HIVE’s mining capabilities and profitability.
In addition to the hardware acquisition, HIVE has commenced construction of a 100 MW green energy facility in Paraguay, with plans to bring 30 MW online by early Q2 2025, further expanding their sustainable mining operations.
These developments underscore HIVE’s commitment to enhancing its mining infrastructure and operational efficiency in the competitive Bitcoin mining industry.
