Bitmain, the global leader in cryptocurrency mining hardware, has officially revealed its latest large-scale Bitcoin mining operation located in Ethiopia. Known as the Baohui Phase I, the facility boasts a total load of 150 MW, making it one of the most advanced hydrocooling-powered mining farms in Africa.
The mining facility taps into Ethiopia’s abundant hydroelectric power, positioning it as an environmentally sustainable operation in a region known for its rich energy resources.
The use of hydrocooling technology, which enhances cooling efficiency while reducing energy costs, allows for superior machine performance compared to traditional air-cooled mining farms.
Bitmain’s move into Ethiopia highlights the increasing role of Africa in the global Bitcoin mining landscape. With the country’s reliable hydroelectric infrastructure, this project not only strengthens Ethiopia’s economy but also emphasizes Bitcoin’s growing footprint across the continent.
