Franklin Templeton Files for Crypto Index ETF

Franklin Templeton, the renowned global investment firm, has officially lodged a proposal with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch an innovative cryptocurrency exchange-traded fund (ETF).

Trading under the ticker ‘EZPZ’, the fund aims to provide investors with diversified exposure to the largest digital assets, initially focusing on Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

The ETF seeks to track the performance of the CF Institutional Digital Asset Index, reflecting the firm’s strategic approach to capture the evolving cryptocurrency market dynamics.

With Coinbase appointed as the custodian and Bank of New York Mellon managing cash holdings and administrative duties, the fund underscores a robust framework aimed at ensuring security and regulatory compliance.

Franklin Templeton’s initiative is part of a broader wave among asset managers to introduce crypto ETFs, a segment that is rapidly gaining traction following the earlier launches of Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs.
