Core Scientific Inc. (NASDAQ: CORZ) announced on May 13, 2025, that Todd Becker has stepped down from its Board of Directors, effective immediately.
Becker joined the board in January 2024 and served as Chair of the Audit Committee. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in overseeing two significant capital raises that materially improved the company’s balance sheet.
He also supported the hiring of a new Chief Financial Officer and contributed to the company’s strategic objectives following its emergence from bankruptcy.
The company stated that Becker’s resignation was not due to any disagreement with the Board, the Company, or management on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies, or practices.
A search for a new independent director to succeed Becker on the Board is currently underway.
In a related development, Core Scientific appointed Elizabeth Crain to its Board of Directors on May 16, 2025. Crain, co-founder and former COO of Moelis & Company, brings over three decades of experience in investment banking and executive leadership. She will also serve as the Chair of the Company’s Audit Committee.
As of the latest trading session, Core Scientific’s stock (CORZ) is priced at $10.78, reflecting a 2.52% increase from the previous close.
The stock has experienced an intraday high of $10.99 and a low of $10.42, with a trading volume of approximately 14 million shares. The company’s market capitalization stands at $1.5 billion.
