Zurich Cantonal Bank Launches Bitcoin and Ethereum Trading

Zurich Cantonal Bank (ZKB), one of Switzerland’s largest financial institutions, has announced a significant move into the cryptocurrency market.

The bank now allows its customers to trade and store Bitcoin and Ethereum directly from its platform.

This offering will integrate with the bank’s existing services, including ZKB eBanking and Mobile Banking, ensuring that customers can securely manage their digital assets.

This move by ZKB reflects the growing demand for digital currencies and the increasing recognition of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum as viable investment assets.

The bank’s services also include secure custody solutions, alleviating the need for customers to manage private keys on their own. This step is particularly important for reducing the complexities and risks associated with cryptocurrency investments.

In partnership with Crypto Finance AG, a subsidiary of Deutsche Börse Group, Zurich Cantonal Bank ensures secure trading and custody services.

ZKB’s decision to venture into the crypto space comes at a time when Bitcoin’s legitimacy as a digital asset is gaining widespread institutional support, especially with Bitcoin ETFs setting the stage for further adoption
