September 24 is a major launch day for players looking for supernatural action and psychological horror. Remedy Entertainment’s CONTROL Resonant and Screen Burn’s SILENT HILL: Townfall arrive with very different approaches to unsettling worlds.

CONTROL Resonant takes the crisis into Manhattan

CONTROL Resonant moves beyond the Oldest House and puts Dylan Faden at the center of a reality-warping crisis in Manhattan. Remedy has rebuilt the formula around a more melee-focused action-RPG structure, with Dylan wielding the Aberrant, a paranormal weapon that can transform into different forms during combat.

The game launches globally on September 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Remedy’s official Steam community also reported that the game passed two million wishlists across platforms ahead of release.

Silent Hill heads to Scotland

SILENT HILL: Townfall takes the long-running horror franchise to the isolated Scottish setting of St. Amelia. Players follow Simon Ordell, who returns to the island to “put things right” while confronting fragmented memories, hostile creatures and environmental puzzles.

A handheld CRTV is one of Townfall’s defining mechanics. The device helps reveal signals, clues and threats while extending the static-radio concept associated with earlier Silent Hill games. PlayStation’s version also uses haptic feedback and motion controls as part of the experience.

Two very different supernatural games

The pairing makes September 24 unusually strong for atmospheric games. CONTROL Resonant emphasizes fast paranormal combat and a distorted urban environment. Townfall leans toward first-person psychological horror, exploration, puzzles and survival.

Both releases also show established franchises expanding beyond their familiar locations. Remedy is pushing Control into the streets of New York, while Konami and Screen Burn are moving Silent Hill’s psychological-horror framework into a Scottish coastal community.
