BNB Chain has become the first blockchain to cross $1 billion in tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds. Token Terminal data reported by Cointelegraph put the network at about $1.1 billion in tokenized equities and ETFs in early October 2026, representing roughly 30% of the $3.7 billion category.
This is not the same thing as BNB itself representing stock ownership. The milestone reflects securities-linked tokens issued and traded on BNB Chain by platforms such as Binance bStocks and Ondo Global Markets.
Earlier in 2026, BSCN highlighted Ondo-powered tokenized stocks and ETFs becoming available through MetaMask on BNB Chain and Ethereum.
BNB Chain Reached About 30% of the Market
Cointelegraph reported that BNB Chain held about $1.1 billion of tokenized stocks and ETFs at the time of publication. Ethereum followed at roughly $828 million and Solana at about $738 million.

The same report said about 1.8 million addresses held tokenized stocks on BNB Chain, representing roughly 45% of holders across the category according to Binance Research.
What a Tokenized Stock Actually Is
A tokenized stock is a blockchain-based instrument designed to track or represent exposure to a traditional equity. The legal structure differs by issuer. Some products are backed by securities held with custodians; others can be structured as contractual or synthetic exposure.
That means a token that tracks Apple or Nvidia should not automatically be treated as identical to holding a conventional brokerage share. Investors need to understand the issuer, custody model, redemption rights, jurisdiction and whether voting or other shareholder rights actually pass through.
BitcoinVersus previously covered the regulatory side when the SEC opened a five-year path for tokenized U.S. stocks to trade onchain.

Why BNB Chain Is Gaining Share
BNB Chain combines EVM compatibility, relatively low transaction costs and a large existing user base. That makes it attractive to issuers trying to reach crypto users without creating an entirely new wallet and smart-contract environment.
Products such as Ondo Global Markets and Binance bStocks also bring recognizable traditional assets into the same wallets and DeFi infrastructure used for crypto. That allows tokenized equities to potentially move between self-custody, trading venues and lending applications in ways conventional brokerage shares generally cannot.
The trend overlaps with the broader shift BitcoinVersus documented in UK banks moving live sterling deposits across tokenized rails.
The Category Is Growing Across Multiple Chains
BNB Chain’s lead does not mean Ethereum or Solana have disappeared from the market. The same data showed substantial tokenized-equity value on both networks, while Base, Avalanche, Arbitrum and other chains also host products.
In January, the overall tokenized-stock and ETF category stood near $719 million. By early October, the figure cited by Cointelegraph had climbed to roughly $3.7 billion. BNB Chain’s share rose materially during that expansion rather than simply inheriting a static market.
Cardano is approaching the broader tokenization trend from a different direction. BitcoinVersus recently documented Cardano’s programmable-token standard for regulated assets, illustrating how major networks are competing on different combinations of compliance, liquidity and programmability.
Tokenization Does Not Remove Traditional Risks
Putting a stock-like instrument on a blockchain can improve transferability and settlement, but it does not remove issuer, custodian, regulatory or market risk. A blockchain may settle the token correctly while the legal claim behind that token still depends on companies and institutions outside the chain.
Liquidity can also differ from the underlying stock, especially outside traditional market hours. A token may technically trade around the clock while the underlying security’s primary market is closed, creating wider spreads and more difficult price discovery.
What Is Confirmed
- BNB Chain reached about $1.1 billion in tokenized stocks and ETFs in early October 2026.
- That made it the first blockchain reported above the $1 billion mark for this category.
- Its share was roughly 30% of the approximately $3.7 billion market at the time.
- Ethereum and Solana remained major competing networks.
- Binance Research reported about 1.8 million BNB Chain addresses holding tokenized equities.
- Tokenized stocks are not automatically legally identical to ordinary brokerage shares; rights depend on each product’s structure.
The milestone shows that competition among major crypto networks is increasingly about what economic activity actually runs on them. Bitcoin established the original model of a scarce peer-to-peer digital asset. BNB Chain, Ethereum, Solana, Cardano and others are extending blockchain infrastructure into securities, stablecoins, smart contracts and other financial instruments. Those differences are worth documenting precisely rather than treating every coin as the same product.
