OSS Brings Data Center AI Hardware Into Military Vehicles

One Stop Systems unveiled Tamarack-G Monday, a rugged computing platform designed to put data-center-class AI hardware inside military vehicles while preserving existing VPX systems.

In its October 12 announcement, OSS said Tamarack-G combines Open Compute Project hardware with VPX infrastructure and uses direct PCIe links between vehicle subsystems. The company claims the design can deliver 600× lower interconnect latency and 6× more bandwidth than traditional switched architectures.

The system targets sensor fusion, 360-degree situational awareness, counter-drone workloads and vehicle communications. Independent coverage confirms the launch at AUSA 2026, while the performance figures remain vendor-reported.

The approach follows the same broader shift toward faster in-system links seen in Microchip’s PCIe 6 hardware, Astera Labs’ PCIe 7 work and OCP-scale AI infrastructure.
