Tatyana Norman Webler built a career across three very different systems: intensive-care nursing, law and healthcare entrepreneurship.
That makes her a strong fit for Career Journalist. ICU nursing ranked among our Top 10 Toughest Jobs in the World in 2026, and Webler entered the field at an unusually demanding moment.
In a July 2026 Powerhouse Lawyers interview, Webler said she graduated nursing school in May 2020 and spent roughly three years working in intensive care during the pandemic. The experience pushed her toward questions about healthcare systems, ethics and policy—and ultimately toward law school.
Powerhouse Lawyers interviews Tatyana Norman Webler about the move from ICU nursing to law and entrepreneurship.
Webler completed her J.D. at the University of Akron School of Law in 2025. The university’s Spring 2025 commencement program lists Tatyana Norman-Webler among the candidates for the Juris Doctor degree. Her professional record also includes a health-law focus, extensive pro bono work and admission as an Ohio attorney.
By 2026, the résumé had expanded again. Webler had moved into a portfolio career spanning healthcare advising, media and nonprofit work, including co-founding the Ohio Brain Capital Alliance.
The pattern is similar to air-traffic-controller-turned-attorney Vanessa Aaron and medic-turned-trauma-surgeon Richard Carmona: a high-pressure first profession becomes the foundation for a second discipline with an entirely different credentialing system.
Webler’s career is especially interesting because the transitions are not random. Bedside care taught her how systems fail in real time. Legal training added another way to analyze rules, risk and accountability. Her newer work applies both perspectives to organizational and healthcare problems.
