How much Bitcoin mining hashrate fits into one liter of air-cooled ASIC hardware? We calculated TH/s per liter (TH/L) for seven selected air-cooled miners using their unboxed chassis dimensions—not shipping cartons.
- WhatsMiner M70S: 16.46 TH/L — 248 TH/s; 430 × 155 × 226 mm; 15.06 L.
- WhatsMiner M70: 14.61 TH/L — 220 TH/s; 430 × 155 × 226 mm; 15.06 L.
- WhatsMiner M60S++: 14.47 TH/L — 218 TH/s; 430 × 155 × 226 mm; 15.06 L.
- Avalon A16XP: 12.83 TH/L — 300 TH/s; 366 × 213 × 300 mm; 23.39 L.
- Avalon A15Pro: 12.74 TH/L — 215 TH/s; 301 × 192 × 292 mm; 16.87 L.
- Avalon A15XP: 12.39 TH/L — 209 TH/s; 301 × 192 × 292 mm; 16.87 L.
- Avalon A16: 12.06 TH/L — 282 TH/s; 366 × 213 × 300 mm; 23.39 L.

Method: TH/L = hashrate (TH/s) ÷ [length × width × height (mm³) / 1,000,000]. The 248 TH/s M70S, for example, occupies about 15.06 liters, giving 16.46 TH/L. Manufacturer-listed configurations and revisions may differ.
The WhatsMiner M70S leads this selected comparison, ahead of the M70 and M60S++. The Avalon A16XP offers 300 TH/s but occupies more chassis volume. These are seven compared models, not a comprehensive ranking of every air-cooled miner on the market.
Compare these results with our liquid-cooled chassis-density comparison, most powerful air-cooled miners, and hashrate explainer.
Editor’s Note: This is strictly a chassis-size ratio. It does not account for fan clearances, aisle space, rack density, electrical load, noise, cooling airflow, machine weight, or energy efficiency. Sources are linked on each machine. The M60S++ uses the 218 TH/s version listed by MicroBT; higher-rated versions also exist.
