AMD Launches Helion Rack for Agentic AI

Liquid-cooled rack-scale AI data center system with dense CPU, GPU, networking and monitoring equipment

AMD introduced Helion Monday, an open rack-scale blueprint built specifically for agentic AI workloads.

AMD’s October 12 announcement says Helion is based on an Open Compute Project spec-design and can be configured around different mixes of CPU density, GPU acceleration, cooling and power. A CPU-only version using 6th Gen EPYC processors can scale to 32,768 CPU cores.

AMD investors discuss how agentic AI is increasing demand for server CPUs alongside accelerators.

An all-in-one configuration combines EPYC CPU nodes, Instinct MI350P GPU nodes and general-purpose compute. AMD also says Helion includes an integrated token router that can direct agent model calls across frontier and open-source models. Secondary reporting says partner systems are expected beginning in November 2026.

The launch builds on BitcoinVersus.Tech coverage of AMD Helios deployments, 256-core EPYC Venice servers and rival agentic-AI CPU platforms.

AMD explains why agentic AI changes the CPU and GPU balance inside data centers.

Editor’s Note: Helion configurations are still under development with ecosystem partners, so final system specifications may differ by vendor.
