Ingram Micro announced Monday that it has received a U.S. patent for an AI-based framework designed to connect older business systems to its Xvantage platform without requiring a separate custom integration for every customer or vendor.
The company calls the technology the Vendor and Customer Agnostic Framework, or VCAF. Ingram Micro says the system can ingest different data formats and business processes, normalize them and connect them to Xvantage for automation and AI-driven workflows. The October 12 announcement says partners can continue using existing protocols while connecting through APIs or MCP-enabled experiences.
The underlying patent record describes AI and natural-language processing used to extract, transform and map information from legacy systems into a common platform schema. U.S. Patent 12,699,561 was issued August 4, 2026.
The approach builds on concepts BitcoinVersus.Tech has covered in APIs, API versus SDK integration and MCP-connected AI tools.
Editor’s Note: The patent protects a technical approach; it does not by itself prove that every Xvantage integration will be faster or cheaper in production.
