Interactive Brokers has added Ethereum staking for eligible clients, bringing a crypto reward feature directly into the same platform used for stocks, options, futures and other assets.
In its October 13 announcement, Interactive Brokers said eligible Interactive Brokers LLC clients can stake ETH through a new Staking Dashboard in the Client Portal. Users can submit stake and unstake requests, monitor pending activity and receive rewards as additional staked cryptocurrency. Those rewards can compound while the position remains staked.
The staking infrastructure is provided by zerohash, which announced its staking-as-a-service platform for financial institutions in June. Interactive Brokers was named as one of the initial partners. Availability still depends on the customer’s Interactive Brokers affiliate and country of residence.

Traditional Brokerage Meets Ethereum Validators
The move extends Interactive Brokers’ gradual crypto expansion. BitcoinVersus recently covered its X Cashtags trading integration, while Ethereum itself continues changing through upgrades such as Glamsterdam on Sepolia. The shift also fits a broader trend of traditional firms bringing crypto functions into familiar financial interfaces, similar to the institutional infrastructure discussed in our coverage of Ripple and Meritz exploring crypto custody in Korea.
Staking is not the same as earning bank interest. ETH is committed to Ethereum’s proof-of-stake system, where validators help secure the network and rewards depend on protocol conditions and the service provider. Interactive Brokers has not framed the product as a guaranteed return.
