Broadcom and Wall Street Arrange $63 Billion in AI Chip Financing for Anthropic

Broadcom and four major financial institutions announced a $63 billion financing arrangement on October 26, 2026, to supply Anthropic with AI accelerators and networking equipment. Bank of America, Blackstone, Citi and Morgan Stanley will support a new financing vehicle, with hardware deliveries expected to begin in 2027. The deal illustrates how expensive AI computing capacity is increasingly funded through long-term equipment leases.

How the $63 Billion Deal Works

According to Broadcom’s official announcement, a newly formed special-purpose vehicle will purchase Broadcom XPU accelerators and networking systems, then lease them to Anthropic. This is financing for infrastructure, not a $63 billion cash investment directly into Anthropic.

Bank of America, Citi and Morgan Stanley are arranging the senior, first-lien debt. Blackstone is the committed provider of the junior, second-lien portion. Broadcom is providing residual-value support equal to the senior financing amount, offering protection tied to what the equipment may be worth later.

Why the Structure Matters

Reuters reported that the senior financing represents approximately $43.5 billion, or 69% of the total, citing sources familiar with the arrangement. Broadcom’s public release confirms the senior-versus-junior structure but does not specify that split.

The arrangement extends a financing model already described in BitcoinVersus.Tech’s earlier $42 billion Broadcom–Anthropic report. The newly announced $63 billion transaction is a separate, later financing development; the two headline amounts should not be casually added together as though they represent independent completed equipment purchases.

2027 Deliveries and Financial Risk

Anthropic previously announced expanded Google and Broadcom computing commitments for next-generation capacity beginning in 2027. Those plans depend on chip deliveries, data-center readiness and sustained demand for Claude.

The new debt structure also creates risks: if hardware depreciates faster than expected, leasing revenue disappoints or financing markets tighten, lenders and guarantors could face losses. Broadcom’s support helps make the transaction financeable, but does not eliminate those uncertainties.

Related coverage includes AI chips as collateral and Big Tech’s infrastructure financing guarantees. Together, they show why AI growth is increasingly an electrical, semiconductor and capital-markets story.
