Quantum Blockchain Technologies said October 29 that all three of its experimental Bitcoin mining methods are now operating on live mining workloads, advancing its effort to commercialize software and AI-based approaches to ASIC mining. The London-listed company reported tests involving an Antminer S9, Bitaxe Gamma devices and an unnamed chipmaker’s mining development kit.
The announcement is a development milestone, not proof that the techniques deliver a measurable commercial advantage. QBT said sustained comparisons remain underway and has not released independently verified results establishing superior Bitcoin output or lower electricity use at production scale.
Method A is operating on a Bitmain Antminer S9 using modified Braiins OS firmware. Its learning system runs on QBT servers, with the miner communicating through an API. QBT says it is measuring the machine against a standard S9 on the same public mining pool. The company has also configured Method A for S19 and S21 hardware through aftermarket control boards, though commercial deployment has not been demonstrated.
Three methods, different hardware
Method B, based on a chaos-mathematics approach, is mining on Bitaxe Gamma devices in the company’s Milan research facility. Those results are being compared with a Bitaxe running standard ESP-Miner software. Method C, called the AI Oracle, is running on a manufacturer’s mining development kit; the manufacturer remains undisclosed under a nondisclosure agreement.
QBT also reported developing a shared software layer that can connect its approaches to the manufacturer’s development platform. Its next stated steps include running Methods A and B on the manufacturer’s hardware and collecting data relevant to potential commercialization.
The distinction matters for mining economics. ASIC efficiency is usually assessed through joules per terahash, while QBT’s proposed methods aim to alter how candidate hashes are selected or evaluated. Any claimed gain needs controlled, repeatable evidence and must account for the power consumed by supporting servers and control electronics.
BitcoinVersus.Tech previously covered QBT’s manufacturer-backed AI Oracle tests and its U.S. mining patent. Today’s announcement moves all three methods into live mining, but the next decisive evidence will be benchmark results that outside researchers and mining operators can reproduce.
