PowerCompute Upgrades Bitcoin Mining Fleet With 1,940 S19 XP Miners

PowerCompute is refreshing its Bitcoin mining fleet with 1,940 Bitmain Antminer S19 XP machines, using newer ASIC efficiency to increase hashrate without a comparable expansion in electrical capacity.

The company expects to install 1,000 S19 XP miners at its Oklahoma facility by September 30, 2026. The units average about 132 TH/s and will replace S19J Pro miners rated at 100 TH/s or below. PowerCompute plans to move the displaced Oklahoma machines to Mississippi, where they will replace older S19 units averaging about 95 TH/s.

After the first installation and redeployment, PowerCompute expects fleet hashrate to reach approximately 822 PH/s, up 6.6% from 771 PH/s as of June 30. The company ordered another 940 S19 XP miners on September 22 for expected October delivery and installation. Once both stages are complete, PowerCompute projects approximately 862 PH/s, an 11.8% cumulative increase.

The efficiency change is central to the upgrade. PowerCompute says each new S19 XP averages roughly 21.5 J/TH compared with about 34 J/TH for the 95 TH/s machines ultimately being replaced. Moving from roughly 95 TH/s to 132 TH/s represents nearly 39% more hashrate per replaced machine while drawing comparable power.

The cascading replacement strategy also extends the useful life of existing mining hardware. Rather than retiring the Oklahoma S19J Pro fleet immediately, PowerCompute is redeploying those machines to Mississippi to remove less productive S19 units. The approach raises fleet-level output while extracting additional value from hardware already owned by the company.

PowerCompute operates 26 MW of wholly owned power infrastructure across Oklahoma and Mississippi. The company says up to another 3 MW of energized capacity is available in Mississippi for expansion into either Bitcoin mining or AI infrastructure, although additional equipment and capital would be required.

PowerCompute estimates the 1,940-machine acquisition will cost approximately $400,000 and says the purchases are being funded from cash and Bitcoin holdings. The company estimates about $1.2 million in annual incremental revenue capacity using a September 21 hashprice assumption of $40 per PH/s per day, before curtailment and downtime. That figure is a company estimate rather than realized revenue and remains sensitive to network difficulty, Bitcoin prices, uptime and hashprice.
