Berkshire Hathaway has agreed to invest another $330 million in Bending Spoons, the Milan-based technology company behind AOL, Vimeo, Evernote and WeTransfer. The agreement, announced October 14, 2026, follows Berkshire’s $600 million investment in the company’s July stock-market debut.
According to Bending Spoons’ SEC Form 6-K, Berkshire will buy 10 million newly issued shares at $33 each. The transaction would bring its ownership to 4% and is expected to close in the fourth quarter, subject to customary conditions.
Bending Spoons shares jumped more than 40% during Wednesday trading and briefly rose as much as 54.7%. Those figures describe intraday trading, not a guaranteed closing return. Reuters reported that the investment increases Berkshire’s total committed capital to approximately $930 million.
Bending Spoons acquires established digital products, reorganizes their operations and aims to hold them for the long term. The company says the new funding will support additional acquisitions. Critics have questioned layoffs and pricing changes following some takeovers, while management argues that restructuring can improve products and profitability.
The investment connects to broader questions about software-company valuations, technology acquisitions and long-term capital allocation. The immediate news is the signed investment agreement; its completion and future returns remain to be seen.
