FLUX 3 Video Cuts 2K and 4K Prices in Half

Black Forest Labs says FLUX 3 Video is now up to 2× faster and costs 50% less for native 2K and 4K generation after serving-side compute optimizations. The company announced the change in an October 14 post on X.

Black Forest Labs says FLUX 3 Video now uses less compute to serve native 2K and 4K generations.

The price change is easiest to understand per second. On the official FLUX 3 Video page, standard text- or image-to-video generation is listed at $0.40 per second for QHD/2K and $0.80 per second for UHD/4K. At those rates, a 10-second generation costs about $4 at 2K or $8 at 4K. Native audio is included.

FLUX 3 is a multimodal model that works across video, audio, images and action prediction. Its video system supports text-to-video, image-to-video, editing, keyframes, multi-scene generation, multilingual dialogue and clip continuation. That broader multimodal direction overlaps with the shift we covered in NEURA’s multimodal robotics model, where one model is expected to combine several forms of input rather than treat each one as an isolated pipeline.

For creators, lower high-resolution pricing changes how often a clip can be regenerated before production costs become restrictive. It also matters for applications that call video models through APIs, where model routing and per-request economics can determine which generator is selected. The same cost pressure is already reshaping other generative media categories, including the AI music systems we examined in Suno V6.

This FLUX 3 overview explains the model’s video, audio and multimodal generation capabilities.

The key limitation is wording: “up to 2× faster” describes a maximum improvement, not a guaranteed speedup for every prompt, resolution or workload. Black Forest Labs has also tied the 50% price reduction specifically to native 2K and 4K generation. The update is therefore best read as a serving-efficiency improvement with a direct price effect, rather than a new model release.
