Standard Bots has launched three new AI skills—Agent, Locate and Inspect—designed to let factory workers program industrial robots faster without traditional robot code. The company announcement says the tools are available now across its AI-native robot platform.
Agent turns plain-language instructions into robot routines. Locate uses the robot’s camera and text or tap input to identify parts even when their position changes. Inspect adds vision models that can flag defects such as scratches during production. Standard Bots says Locate can reduce programming time by removing many manually taught waypoints.
A recent Latent Space interview with Standard Bots engineers describes the same operating model: learned perception handles variable parts while conventional control still manages motion and factory-cell logic. That separation matters because manufacturing robots need repeatability as well as flexibility.
The launch fits a broader move toward physical AI and easier factory automation. BitcoinVersus.Tech has recently ranked the Top 7 Industrial Robots in 2026, covered Schaeffler’s humanoid robot gym, and tracked TDK PositionSense for robots and wearables.
