Top 7 Most Powerful Pickup Trucks of 2026

Anime-style illustration of seven high-performance consumer pickup trucks gathered at sunset on a wet mountain road.

The horsepower race has moved far beyond traditional V8 pickup trucks. In 2026, the strongest consumer pickups combine supercharged gasoline engines with dual-, tri-, and quad-motor electric drivetrains that now push well past 1,000 horsepower.

This countdown ranks consumer-production pickup trucks available to U.S. buyers in 2026 by maximum factory-rated horsepower. Prototypes, tuner builds, and one-off conversions are excluded. The outgoing F-150 Lightning is a 2025-model truck that remains part of the 2026 consumer market. GMC Sierra EV and Chevrolet Silverado EV are tied at 760 hp, so their #5 and #4 positions should not be read as a horsepower advantage.

#7 — Ford F-150 Lightning — 580 hp

The extended-range F-150 Lightning reaches 580 horsepower. It is the lowest-output truck on this list, but it still produces more peak power than many performance gasoline pickups and pairs that output with instant electric torque.

#6 — Ford F-150 Raptor R — 720 hp

The Raptor R is the combustion outlier near the top. Ford rates its 5.2-liter supercharged V8 at 720 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque. It proves that the internal-combustion performance truck is still alive even as EV output climbs into four figures.

#5 — GMC Sierra EV — 760 hp

GMC rates the 2026 Sierra EV at up to 760 horsepower in Max Power Mode, with 785 lb-ft of torque. That moves a full-size luxury-oriented electric pickup into the same horsepower neighborhood as dedicated performance machines.

#4 — Chevrolet Silverado EV — 760 hp

The 2026 Silverado EV also peaks at 760 horsepower with Wide Open Watts. It is therefore tied with the Sierra EV on horsepower; this position exists only to preserve the 7-to-1 countdown. Chevrolet also rates maximum torque at 775 lb-ft.

#3 — Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast — 845 hp

Tesla currently lists the Cybertruck at 845 horsepower of “Raw Power,” putting the Cyberbeast firmly above the GM 760-hp pair. Tesla also quotes a 2.6-second 0–60 mph time for the top configuration under its stated test conditions.

#2 — Rivian R1T Quad — 1,025 hp

Rivian’s second-generation Quad-Motor R1T breaks the four-figure barrier with 1,025 horsepower and 1,198 lb-ft of torque. Four independently controlled motors give the truck enormous straight-line output while also allowing highly granular torque control at each wheel.

#1 — GMC Hummer EV Pickup 3X — 1,160 hp

The horsepower crown goes to the 2026 Hummer EV Pickup 3X with the available 24-module battery pack. GMC rates it at up to 1,160 horsepower, 135 hp beyond the R1T Quad. GMC also claims an available 0–60 mph time of approximately 2.8 seconds with Watts to Freedom.

What the ranking shows

Five of the seven trucks here are electric. That does not automatically make them better pickups—payload, towing, thermal performance, range, charging, weight, cost, and durability matter—but it shows how quickly electric drivetrains have changed the meaning of “high horsepower” in a consumer truck.

Verification note

Horsepower figures were checked against current manufacturer material available on October 16, 2026. The two endpoints are especially clear: Ford officially rates the 2026 Raptor R at 720 hp, while GMC lists the 2026 Hummer EV Pickup at up to 1,160 hp. Tesla’s current Cybertruck page lists 845 hp of Raw Power. Manufacturer figures can depend on trim, battery, drive mode, and configuration.
