October 24, 2026 — Wall Street analysts continue to assign substantial 12-month upside to publicly traded Bitcoin miners as operators build businesses around electric-power capacity, data centers and AI computing. Hut 8 (HUT), Riot Platforms (RIOT) and MARA Holdings (MARA) illustrate the opportunity—and the different risks investors are pricing. The figures below use October 23 U.S. closing stock prices and analyst-consensus snapshots; targets are opinions, not guaranteed future prices.
Key Takeaways
- Hut 8’s $156.47 average target implies 155.54% versus its $61.23 October 23 close; the previously cited 144.60% does not match that closing price.
- Riot’s $31.68 target implies 152.83% versus its $12.53 close; the 15-analyst sample showed unanimous Buy ratings.
- MARA’s $14.78 target implies 110.54% versus its $7.02 close, but its analyst ratings are more divided: five Buy, three Hold and two Sell.
Hut 8 Pairs Bullish Targets With New Financing
HUT: October 23 close $61.23; average 12-month target $156.47; target range $96–$275. The TipRanks snapshot shows 18 Buy, one Hold and no Sell ratings among 19 analysts. The high target is one analyst’s scenario, not an agreed valuation.
On September 28, Hut 8 announced a $1.07 billion four-year senior secured revolving credit facility for corporate liquidity and infrastructure development. A secured credit facility is borrowing capacity, not free capital; utilization, collateral requirements, financing costs and execution matter. Our earlier report tracked Hut 8’s Beacon Point project reaching a Texas grid milestone.

Riot Draws a Unanimous Buy Sample
RIOT: October 23 close $12.53; average target $31.68; range $19–$42. TipRanks lists 15 Buy ratings, zero Hold and zero Sell within its tracked three-month sample. That is unanimous among those 15 analysts, not proof that every institution endorses the stock. Other services use different coverage groups and report different consensus targets.
Riot’s case emphasizes Texas power access, large-scale electrical facilities and potential AI/HPC hosting revenue alongside Bitcoin mining. The conversion is capital-intensive: secured interconnection capacity and long-term customers matter more than a headline megawatt figure. The broader risk of miner stocks being repriced with AI equities was covered in our October 15 miner-stock selloff report.

MARA Faces a More Divided Outlook
MARA: October 23 close $7.02; average target $14.78; range $10–$27. The 10-analyst TipRanks sample gives the stock a Moderate Buy consensus, with five Buy, three Hold and two Sell recommendations. That distribution is materially less uniform than the Hut 8 or Riot samples.
On-chain tracker Lookonchain reported that wallets it associates with MARA moved approximately 1,000 BTC, worth $82.8 million at the time, toward exchanges over five days ending October 19. Those transfers do not establish a completed sale or prove that they caused MARA’s share-price decline. We previously covered a separate 996 BTC transfer linked to MARA and Galaxy Digital. MARA’s financing choices, mining margins and AI investments all remain relevant to valuation.

What the Forecasts Cannot Tell Us
The upside percentages are calculated as (average analyst target ÷ October 23 close − 1) × 100. They will change with market prices and forecast revisions. The analyst-count and price-target samples are specific to TipRanks; coverage and averages may differ at services using broader sets.
A shift from Bitcoin mining into AI infrastructure can diversify revenue if companies secure customers and complete facilities, but it also brings construction costs, debt, dilution, electricity constraints and demanding uptime requirements. A bullish consensus should be read alongside financial statements, capital commitments and achieved operating performance.
