Xiaomi’s futuristic Vision Gran Turismo concept is moving from the show floor into Gran Turismo 7, with fresh in-game footage revealed today at the Gran Turismo World Series in Singapore.
The reveal confirms that the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo will arrive in October as part of Gran Turismo 7’s Spec IV Part 1 update, giving players their first chance to drive the electric concept inside the series.
The concept car is finally becoming playable
Gran Turismo’s official October 3 announcement says the new footage debuted at World Series Round 3 in Singapore and confirms the Xiaomi VGT for the October portion of Spec IV. The car was first announced as a Xiaomi–Gran Turismo collaboration in 2025, then appeared as a full-size concept in Barcelona earlier this year.
Gran Turismo also shared the footage through a specific X status, explicitly stating that the car is coming in October’s Spec IV Part 1 update.
A digital hypercar built around airflow
The Xiaomi VGT uses the kind of exaggerated aerodynamic thinking that makes Vision Gran Turismo cars interesting. Its teardrop cockpit sits inside a body carved with ducts and cutouts, while the halo-shaped rear light also functions as part of a large air outlet.
GTPlanet’s report from today notes that the new footage provides the clearest look yet at the car in motion and confirms it for the October half of the split Spec IV rollout.
Gran Turismo keeps blurring real cars and simulated cars
The most interesting part of Vision Gran Turismo has always been that the design loop can move in both directions. Automakers build digital cars for a game, but those cars are increasingly treated like real design exercises—with full-scale models, aero concepts and brand-specific engineering language.
That same boundary between simulation and real-world motorsport keeps showing up elsewhere. BitcoinVersus.Tech recently covered how Genesis turned Le Mans Ultimate into an esports recruiting path, using a racing simulation as part of a real manufacturer-backed competition structure.
On the hardware side, Logitech’s latest sim-racing push shows how quickly the physical side of racing games is evolving too. Better wheels, pedals, software and telemetry make digital cars feel less like game objects and more like machines players can learn.
Spec IV is bigger than one car
Xiaomi’s concept joins a much larger Gran Turismo 7 update cycle. Spec IV is split between October and December, with new cars, circuits, modes and progression features arriving across both releases.
The October half adds Sportsland SUGO and six cars, while December brings the returning Autumn Ring, six more cars, Family Mode, Shuffle Race, Online Drift Trial and the next evolution of Gran Turismo Sophy.
That makes the Xiaomi reveal more than a one-off promotional crossover. It lands inside one of GT7’s largest update cycles, alongside a broader effort to make the game deeper for experienced players while also opening more ways for new players to engage with it.
Sony’s platform is changing underneath the game too
Gran Turismo 7’s content expansion is arriving while Sony continues to push rendering technology on the console side. BitcoinVersus.Tech recently covered Sony bringing QSSR AI upscaling to the standard PS5, another example of software increasingly reshaping how console games look and perform without replacing the underlying hardware.
For racing games, that combination matters. More detailed cars, larger updates, better image reconstruction and more sophisticated physics all compound into a simulation that increasingly feels like a technology showcase as much as a traditional game.
The Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo fits that direction almost perfectly: a car conceived as a digital design experiment, built as a physical concept, then brought back into the virtual world as something players can actually drive.
