Solana Launches DvP Settlement Program

Solana Foundation has released Solana DvP, an MIT-licensed open-source escrow program for delivery-versus-payment settlement on Solana. The goal is simple: move an asset and its payment in one atomic transaction so both legs settle together or neither does.

The program targets financial institutions handling tokenized assets. Solana says it supports SPL Token and Token-2022, including extensions used for regulated assets such as permanent delegates, pausable tokens and transfer hooks. The source code is public on GitHub.

Solana Foundation announced the shared DvP standard on October 6, 2026.

J.P. Morgan provided input on securities-settlement practices and institutional requirements. That distinction matters. Solana Foundation’s own disclaimer says J.P. Morgan did not design, develop, operate, approve, certify, endorse or guarantee Solana DvP.

Under the program, the two counterparties fund separate escrow accounts. A settlement authority named in the trade can then settle both legs in one transaction. If the trade is cancelled or rejected, the funded assets can be returned instead. Solana says the program has undergone external security audits, while also stating that it is welcoming design partners ahead of a production release.

The release fits a broader push toward tokenized settlement infrastructure. BitcoinVersus.Tech recently covered Fiserv bringing bank settlement to Solana, BNB Chain passing $1 billion in tokenized stocks and ETFs, and Solana cutting slot time to 200 milliseconds. DvP adds another piece: a reusable open-source settlement rail rather than a custom contract for each institutional trade.

Solana’s “The Institutions Are Here” video provides broader context on institutional adoption and tokenized finance on the network.

For now, the confirmed development is the software release itself. Whether banks, custodians or exchanges adopt it broadly will depend on production deployments, legal agreements, security reviews and operational integration—not simply the availability of the code.
