NVIDIA Opens More AI Tools and Compute to European Researchers

Wordless comic-style editorial illustration of European researchers using AI, scientific computing, robotics and supercomputer infrastructure.

NVIDIA announced on October 15 that it is joining the European Commission’s AI in Science Enablers initiative, expanding access to AI tools, training and compute for researchers across Europe.

The commitment includes access to accelerated computing platforms, cloud resources, scientific software, technical support and collaborative research programs. NVIDIA says it has released more than 250 open models, 250 open datasets and over 1,400 open-source software projects spanning fields such as climate science, robotics, biology, chemistry and materials research.

The broader European AI in Science Strategy is centered on RAISE, the Resource for AI Science in Europe. The European Commission says the RAISE pilot carries €107 million in Horizon Europe funding, while €600 million is planned to expand researchers’ access to computing capacity.

NVIDIA is also connecting startups and smaller research groups with European AI factories and supercomputing centers. That work builds on Europe’s wider AI infrastructure expansion, which BitcoinVersus.Tech has followed through frontier-model access for European researchers, the world’s fastest supercomputers and NVIDIA’s $1 billion U.S. science commitment.

For smaller labs, the practical significance is access: software, training and GPU infrastructure that can reduce the technical and financial barriers between an experiment and the compute needed to run it.
