Sweden Launches Sferical One AI Supercomputer

Sferical AI launched Sferical One on October 15, 2026, giving several of Sweden’s largest companies shared access to advanced AI computing capacity. The official launch announcement says the system is an NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD built from 16 DGX GB300 systems and has been operating since late summer.

AstraZeneca, Ericsson, Saab, SEB and Wallenberg Investments founded the initiative, while SKF participates as a strategic partner. Instead of each company duplicating the same infrastructure, Sferical pools compute, investment and expertise. Ericsson says it is already using the platform for secure network and automation work.

NVIDIA has been deploying its latest accelerated-computing systems at large scale; Sferical One uses the company’s DGX GB300 platform.

The companies are targeting different workloads on the same sovereign infrastructure: drug discovery at AstraZeneca, telecom foundation models at Ericsson, defence applications at Saab, financial services at SEB and industrial uses such as predictive maintenance and quality control at SKF. Sferical also plans services based on NVIDIA’s open Nemotron multimodal models.

The launch adds another major compute project to Sweden. BitcoinVersus.Tech recently covered Scaleway’s planned AMD AI supercomputer in Sweden, NVIDIA opening more AI compute to European researchers, and robots assembling GB300 AI hardware. Sferical One is different because the infrastructure is jointly owned around specific industrial workloads rather than offered as a general public cloud.
