Vertiv 2.3 MW AI Cooling Unit Qualifies for NVIDIA DSX Ready

Vertiv 2.3 MW CoolChip liquid cooling system for NVIDIA DSX Ready AI factories

Vertiv says its 2.3 MW CoolChip coolant distribution unit has qualified as an NVIDIA DSX Ready CDU, making it the first CDU qualified specifically under the new DSX Ready program.

The system targets high-density AI deployments where GPU racks are forcing data centers to treat compute, power and cooling as one integrated infrastructure problem.

2.3 MW of liquid-cooling capacity

The 2.3 MW CoolChip model is a liquid-to-liquid CDU designed for direct-to-chip cooling and rear-door heat exchangers. It can be installed at the end of a rack row or around the perimeter of a data hall.

The embedded English-language video explains Vertiv’s role in the AI infrastructure stack, including liquid cooling and electrical systems required by increasingly dense GPU deployments.

NVIDIA adds infrastructure qualification

NVIDIA launched DSX Ready to help AI-factory builders identify specific cooling and battery-energy-storage products that meet applicable DSX reference-design requirements. NVIDIA says the broader DSX platform coordinates compute, networking, power, cooling, facilities and software as one system.

Vertiv’s qualification does not eliminate site engineering. Both companies note that builders still need to evaluate how a qualified CDU fits a particular facility, operating configuration and thermal design.

Cooling capacity is moving into megawatts

The 2.3 MW rating illustrates how rapidly thermal infrastructure is scaling. Modern accelerator racks concentrate enough compute that liquid loops, pumps, heat exchangers, facility water and electricity infrastructure can constrain usable computing capacity.
