Elektrobit and Microchip Technology announced on October 15, 2026 that they are combining automotive hardware with pre-integrated AUTOSAR software to reduce the setup work required for software-defined vehicles. The official announcement says the package pairs Microchip automotive platforms with Elektrobit’s EB tresos software and tooling; S&P Capital IQ reporting also confirmed the collaboration today.
The first implementation includes pre-integrated Microcontroller Abstraction Layer software plus EB tresos AutoCore OS and Generic modules on Microchip’s SAMA5 microprocessors. The companies say initial market work will emphasize high-growth automotive segments in Asia, including two-wheelers, while also supporting customers across Asia and North America.
AUTOSAR standardizes the software architecture used across electronic control units. Pre-integration does not make a vehicle autonomous by itself; it removes part of the repetitive foundation work so engineering teams can spend more time on application logic, validation and vehicle-specific features. Elektrobit is also applying an integration-as-code approach to automate repeatable Classic AUTOSAR configuration work.
