Aligned Delta Cube 3.0 Claims 10% More Cooling in the Same Space

Dallas-based Aligned Data Centers unveiled Delta Cube 3.0 on October 28, 2026, an updated air-cooling system for AI facilities. Its manufacturer claims 10% more cooling capacity and 10% greater air-cooling efficiency without enlarging the equipment.

Industrial climate-control company Munters helped redesign its heat exchangers, fan impellers and motors. The engineering changes aim to move more heat with less cooling electricity, but independent test results were not published.

The changes matter as dense GPU rooms need greater heat removal without surrendering valuable floor space. Both 10% figures are equipment-level supplier claims, not verified reductions in an entire data center’s power bill.

What changed inside the cooling system

Delta Cube drives conditioned air through server halls and heat-transfer equipment. It differs from GPU cold plates and immersion tanks, which our cooling-method comparison explains as separate approaches.

A capacity increase within the same footprint could help sites accommodate higher thermal loads. Yet real electricity savings depend on local climate, fan controls, operating temperatures and the baseline used for comparison.

Aligned says its closed-loop system consumes no water during normal cooling operations. That does not mean it contains no circulating water or that construction and maintenance have no water footprint.

Factory work and field checks

Delta Cube is an established product family rather than a newly invented cooling principle. The 3.0 generation instead focuses on revised components and more standardized factory assembly.

Munters identifies Selma, Texas, and Daleville, Virginia, as its North American production locations. Factory work could reduce installation disruption, although the company disclosed no independently measured reduction in deployment time.

Fans, coils and piping still need routine inspection after commissioning. Technicians also track temperature differences and airflow using techniques outlined in our cooling-engineering guide.

Airside improvements complement other approaches to data-center cooling. Immersion cooling research and direct-to-chip liquid systems use different mechanisms and cannot be assumed to deliver identical results.

Operators should request matched-condition testing and separate measurements of fan power and useful cooling capacity. Our cooling-monitoring coverage reinforces why nameplate performance must be checked against live telemetry.

Independent site records will be the next meaningful evidence for cooling performance and operational water use. For now, Delta Cube 3.0 is a real hardware update with promising but supplier-reported performance figures.
