Alpha Compute Signs $71.9M Deal for Hydropowered NVIDIA B300 Cluster in Sweden

Alpha Compute signed a $71.9 million contract on September 30, 2026, to supply NVIDIA B300 computing capacity from its planned ALPHA-02 cluster in Sweden. The company disclosed the deal October 6, describing the data center as 100% hydropowered. A signed AI-capacity contract does not prove that every GPU is operating.

An earlier filing specified 576 NVIDIA B300 GPUs for ALPHA-02. These accelerators target AI training and inference; NVIDIA’s HGX B300 datasheet lists 270 GB of HBM3E memory per GPU. The facility’s power draw, grid capacity and electricity price remain undisclosed.

AI infrastructure also requires networking, thermal management and power distribution. Our coverage of high-density liquid-cooled racks and memory expansion explains adjacent engineering challenges.

Contract value is not cash received

Alpha expects $24 million in new annual contracted revenue, bringing projected annual revenue to $47 million. These are forecasts, not realized sales. Its Canadian ALPHA-01 project carried a $32.2 million contract; a later Missouri ALPHA-03 deal totaled approximately $81.7 million.

The deals suggest demand for reserved GPU capacity, but neither margins nor energy costs can be inferred from contract totals. As with Bitcoin mines shifting to AI, computing hardware and power infrastructure must be delivered before revenues can be realized.

What does “100% hydropowered” mean?

The sourcing designation is Alpha Compute’s claim. Its October SEC announcement identifies neither the Swedish hydropower supplier nor an independently verified hourly matching method. That distinction matters: a renewable-electricity contract does not establish a direct physical connection between one dam and the servers.

Hydropower output varies with water availability and plant operation. Our capacity-factor guide distinguishes nameplate output from actual generation, while the Sherbrooke computing proposal demonstrates why energy sourcing and permits deserve scrutiny.

Next, Alpha must confirm deployment, commissioning and utilization of ALPHA-02. The binding agreement is documented, but the claimed power sourcing and projected revenues warrant additional independent verification.
