Bitdeer Leads September Bitcoin Mining Production as Rivals Report Monthly Output

Editorial split-screen of industrial Bitcoin mining ASIC racks and power-intensive mining campus infrastructure.

Bitdeer led the reported September 2026 Bitcoin production figures examined by BitcoinVersus.Tech, mining 1,355 BTC during the 30-day month. Its October 19 disclosure showed output up 200% from 452 BTC a year earlier and up 3.4% from August’s 1,310 BTC. Other reporting miners followed at very different scales, while a growing number of competitors now publish their results quarterly rather than monthly.

Bitdeer Extends Its Production Lead

Bitdeer reported 82.3 EH/s of self-mining hashrate at its own data centers and 28.7 EH/s in co-mining hashrate using Bitdeer equipment operated by third parties. Its 1,355 BTC monthly figure includes both categories. The September disclosure listed 47 BTC held on its defined balance measure, compared with 61 BTC at the end of August; coins mined, held and sold are separate metrics.

BitcoinVersus.Tech previously reported Bitdeer’s October weekly mining-and-sales update. That later weekly snapshot should not be added to September totals.

CleanSpark, BitFuFu and Smaller Operators

CleanSpark produced 529 BTC, down from 593 in August, and reported 36.0 EH/s of average operating hashrate. Its September balance was 13,530 BTC. CleanSpark announced it will discontinue monthly operating updates in favor of quarterly reporting; see our earlier report on the reporting change.

BitFuFu reported 167 BTC, comprising 98 BTC from its own mining and 69 BTC from cloud mining, down from 174 total BTC in August. Canaan reported 44 BTC, unchanged month over month, while PowerCompute disclosed approximately 8.1 BTC, up from 7.9 BTC. The list deliberately omits miners without a matching confirmed September monthly figure; their omission does not imply zero production.

Why Production and Power Efficiency Must Be Read Together

Total BTC produced measures output, but not necessarily profitability. Network difficulty, uptime, electricity prices, curtailment, effective hashrate and machine efficiency all affect economics. CleanSpark reported 16.07 J/TH as its deployed fleet’s peak efficiency; BitFuFu reported 16.7 J/TH fleet average. Those differently defined metrics cannot be treated as directly interchangeable.

This operational distinction also matters to BitcoinVersus.Tech’s 1 J/TH research. Laboratory chip results do not measure complete ASIC system wall-power efficiency, and a miner producing the most Bitcoin is not automatically operating the most efficient fleet.

Key Takeaways

  • Bitdeer: 1,355 BTC, up about 200% year over year, led the companies compared in this report.
  • CleanSpark: 529 BTC, and a move from monthly to quarterly reporting.
  • BitFuFu: 167 BTC, including both self-mining and cloud-mining production.
  • Comparability: Reporting frequency, co-mining definitions and operating conditions limit a universal leaderboard.
