ViaBTC and Mempool Expand Bitcoin Transaction Acceleration

ViaBTC has partnered with Mempool to widen access to Bitcoin transaction acceleration, connecting a major mining pool’s block-building infrastructure with a consumer-facing service designed to help eligible transactions confirm when they are stuck behind higher-fee traffic.

The September 16 agreement is a useful reminder that Bitcoin miners do more than produce hashrate. Pools also assemble candidate blocks and decide which valid transactions to include, making block construction an important layer of Bitcoin infrastructure.

ViaBTC puts mining-pool infrastructure behind transaction acceleration

The mining pool says it will use its Bitcoin pool infrastructure, block-construction systems and transaction-processing capabilities to support eligible acceleration requests associated with Mempool. ViaBTC says its existing users will continue submitting transaction IDs through the same website and mobile application.

The company’s announcement says its accelerator has handled more than 800,000 Bitcoin transactions since the service launched in 2016. Commercial terms for the new partnership were not disclosed.

Why a Bitcoin transaction gets stuck

A valid Bitcoin transaction can remain unconfirmed when demand for block space exceeds available capacity or when its fee rate is too low relative to other transactions waiting in the mempool. Miners and pools generally have an economic incentive to prioritize transactions offering higher fees.

ViaBTC’s accelerator changes the transaction-selection path rather than Bitcoin’s consensus rules. Sources describing the partnership say eligible transactions can be prioritized through the pool’s block-construction process. ViaBTC also operates free and paid acceleration options, with eligibility and pricing rules applying to submissions.

Block construction matters as mining competition rises

BitcoinVersus.tech has been following the increasingly competitive mining environment. Network difficulty recently reached 132.76T, while public miners account for roughly 45% of tracked network hashrate. Our reporting has also examined the growth of private and sovereign hashrate and recent one-block reorganizations.

At the hardware layer, miners continue trying to extract more work from each megawatt. BitcoinVersus.tech recently covered BITMAIN’s 8.9 J/TH S23 XP Hydro, Braiins OS 26.09 diagnostics and PowerCompute’s fleet-efficiency refresh. Pool software and transaction selection sit above that physical layer but ultimately determine how the resulting hashrate is turned into candidate blocks and fee revenue.

Mempool becomes another route into the accelerator

The partnership extends ViaBTC’s infrastructure into the ecosystem surrounding wallets, explorers and transaction tools. ViaBTC says it plans to pursue additional cooperation with block explorers, wallets and other Bitcoin infrastructure providers.

That makes this more than a front-end product integration. It connects the user-visible mempool experience to the operational systems that mining pools use to construct blocks, complementing the infrastructure story BitcoinVersus.tech has tracked through large mining power portfolios and the continuing competition for efficient Bitcoin compute.
